Today was a good day. Yes, I found a salamander. It was under one of the very first logs we checked, waiting to be lovingly adored for several minutes until I returned it to its log. The remainder of the logs I checked that day were amphibian free – as far as I could tell – so I am glad I spent a little while with this little guy.
